Valley International

Cross-border wealth management careers

We are looking for a wealth adviser based in Dubai and welcome enquiries from other Gulf locations. We also consider private-client, operations and wealth-planning applications in France and Asia.

Valley International advises foreign nationals living in France and French nationals living abroad. The firm has a presence in Paris, Montpellier, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Shanghai and Dubai. The work brings together each client’s family circumstances, assets and plans across the countries involved.

What the work involves

You review client documents, including statements, employment contracts and share-plan rules, alongside the relevant law and treaties. You work with the client’s existing accountants, lawyers, notaires and tax advisers. Written recommendations need to explain the available options and their consequences clearly enough for the client to consider them after the meeting.

Video meetings are arranged to take clients’ time zones into account. Roles covering Asia and the Middle East may also involve travel.

The profiles we work well with

  • Private client advice: understand the client’s circumstances, carry out the review and coordinate the agreed work. Sound judgement includes knowing when specialist advice is needed.
  • Operations: prepare applications with insurers and custodian banks, collect documents and follow requests through to completion.
  • Wealth planning: research legal and tax questions, prepare written analysis and maintain the reference material.

The open role: Dubai and the Gulf

We are looking for a wealth adviser based in Dubai, and we are also looking at the other Gulf centres. This is the role we want to fill first: the firm is already established there — Paris, Montpellier, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Shanghai and Dubai — but nobody is resident on the ground, and our clients in the region are currently looked after from Asia and from Paris.

Clients in the region may retain French property, hold employee share awards or be planning another move. The role involves reviewing these decisions with the relevant professionals in each country.

What we do not ask for

You do not need to bring a book of clients or sell an in-house product. The work starts with the client’s circumstances and needs. The firm provides investment advice on a non-independent regulatory basis, as explained on our fees page.

Writing to us

Email contact@valley-international.com with your CV, the role that interests you and your current location. A covering letter is not required. Speculative applications are welcome, in English or French.

Professional requirements depend on the role and whether the person works as an employee or under their own regulated status. Competence, conduct and any registration requirements are checked before the relevant duties begin. Applicants should receive the information applicable to the handling of their application.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own clients to join?

No. You can join without bringing a book of clients and work on the matters assigned to you within the firm.

Do I need to live in France?

No. The team is spread between France and Asia, and meetings are held by video on the client’s time zone. What matters is being able to work across a time difference, not the address on your contract.

Do I need to speak French?

For a client-facing role, yes: the underlying files are French, and the source texts are the French tax code and the treaties in their French version. For operations and wealth-planning work, strong English with working French is often enough at the outset.

What regulatory conditions apply?

The requirements depend on the proposed work and employment or professional status. We review the qualifications, training and registration obligations that apply to the role. Personal registration should not be assumed to be identical for every member of staff.
